Cooking Instructions

Ragu Rustico (3-4 quart crockpot or stovetop)


(3-4 quart crockpot or stovetop): Thaw in fridge. Crockpot: Empty bag into crockpot. Stir and cover. Cook on Low, 6-8 hours. Stovetop: Empty bag into a pot. Add 1/2 c. water (Split Orders, add 1/4 c. water). Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer approx. 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add water if necessary. Both: Before serving, skim off surface fat and season with salt and pepper. Cook egg noodles in boiling, salted water (Split Orders cook ½ of the egg noodles). Serve Ragu over hot egg noodles with Parmesan cheese and a crisp, green salad.

Raspberry Tilapia (stovetop)


(stovetop): Thaw completely in fridge. Cook rice (included). Heat 1-2 Tbsp. olive oil in a non-stick frypan over medium heat. Lay fish in pan & sprinkle with seasoning. Sauté 3-4 min. per side, turning once, until lightly golden and fish flakes easily with a fork (internal temp 158F/70C). Remove fish from pan & cover to keep warm. Add raspberry sauce to pan. Whisk until slightly thickened. Pour sauce over fish and serve with hot cooked rice. Suggested Sides: Our Warm Kale Krunch.

Ratatouille Provencal (3-4 quart crockpot or stovetop)


Thaw completely in fridge. 3-4 quart crockpot: Empty bag into crockpot. Cover and cook on low, 5-6 hours. With slotted spoon remove veggies from crockpot. Pour juices from crockpot into a saucepan; bring to a boil & cook until slightly thickened, 5-8 min, then toss with the veggies. Stovetop: Empty bag into pot. Add ½ c. water (Split Orders, add ¼ c. water). Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer gently approx. 1 ½ hours. Stir occasionally and add more water if necessary. Both: Serve Ratatouille with rice (included).

Roast Pork Tenderloin with Whiskey Sauce (oven)


(oven): Thaw completely in fridge. Heat oven to 450F/230C. Place pork on a foil-lined, rimmed cookie tray; season with salt & pepper; drizzle with olive oil or coat with non-stick spray. Roast 20-25 min. OR until done (internal temp. 160F/71C). Tent with foil & let rest 5 min. Empty sauce into a small pot; bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook, whisking occasionally, 3- 5 min, adding any juices from cooked pork. Reduce heat to medium-low. Whisk in vinegar & butter; continue cooking about 3 min. Slice pork and drizzle with sauce. Suggested Sides: SupperWorks mashed potatoes.

Roasted Pumpkin and Wild Rice Wraps (microwave or oven)


(oven or microwave): Thaw completely in fridge. Oven: Leave wraps in foil and bake at 350F/175C for approx. 20 min. until heated through. Microwave: For every 3 wraps, remove foil and place wraps on plate. Cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave at 50% power for 2-3 min, rotating once. Microwave an additional 4-5 min. on high, rotating once, until hot in centre (Note: Your microwave may require slightly shorter or longer cooking times). Suggested Sides: Fresh ripe pineapple or oranges. Sour cream for dipping.

Rocky Mountain Bean Burritos (oven OR freezer-to-microwave)


(Oven OR freezer-to-microwave): Oven: Thaw completely in refrigerator. Bake wrapped burritos at 450F/230C for 10 min. OR until heated through. For crispier exterior remove foil before baking. Microwave: From frozen-unwrap a burrito, cover with a paper towel, and place on a microwave-safe plate. Defrost on Medium power for 5 min. Uncover and cook on High power until heated through, about 4-5 min. Microwaving additional burritos at the same time will increase cooking time. Suggested Sides: Pineapple, mango, or orange wedges.

Rons Favourite Flat Irons (grill)


(grill): IF frozen, thaw in fridge. Heat grill to medium-high. Clean and oil grates to prevent sticking. Remove steak from marinade and discard marinade. Grill, covered, for 6-8 min. per side, OR to desired doneness. Over-cooking will result in tough meat. Remove from heat and let rest 10 min. before slicing thinly across the grain. Suggested Sides: Our Sweet Potato Fries.

Rosemary Pork Tenderloin with Apple Sauce (oven and stovetop)


(oven): Thaw completely in fridge. Heat oven to 450F/230C. Remove pork from marinade (reserve marinade). Place pork on a shallow, foil-lined baking tray coated with non-stick spray. Roast 20-25 min OR to desired doneness (internal temp. 160F/71C). Tent with foil & let rest 10 min. before slicing. Meanwhile, empty apples and marinade into a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat & boil gently, approx. 5 min. stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Serve over pork. Suggested Sides: Our Creamy Peas ‘n Orzo.
